Requiring Assistance
Any employee with a permanent or temporary handicap that would hinder his/her
timely evacuation MUST notify their manager beforehand.
- It is the responsibility of their manager to ensure co-worker(s) are trained
to assist the handicapped employee during evacuations.
- If emergency responder assistance is required, the co-worker(s) must immediately
notify a Muster Area Coordinator for planning, at the time of emergency so
personnel and equipment can be requested through the Incident Command System.
- Helping a handicapped visitor to evacuate is the responsibility of the hosting
organization. A visitors escort will be responsible for guiding the visitor
to the assembly/muster area.
